Student Council
At Pield Heath, we strive to place the voice of our students at the heart of our school. We value the views and opinions of all our young people and we try to make sure that they are heard.
Often, our students see things from a different perspective to our staff and it is helpful to get their views on how Pield Heath can make changes. The student council discusses any ideas, issues or concerns that students may have and regularly invites Senior Management to consider these points. In return senior management will consult with the council on any changes which will affect students and their school life, ensuring that their opinions are considered during the decision-making process.
The Student Council meets on a regular basis and is consulted on ways to promote positive engagement to ensure students are happy and want to attend school. The Student Council is comprised of a Chairperson who leads the meetings, a Vice Chairperson and Treasurer who manages the budget (with support from a linked SSA,) an Events Coordinator and a School Council Secretary, who takes minutes at their meetings. There is also a Speech and Language therapist attached to the Student Council, offering additional support to those council members who might need it.
