School Feast Day
As our Trustees are The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and The
Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is depicted on our school logo.

We mark the Feast of the Sacred Heart as our School Feast. It is a major solemnity in the Catholic liturgical calendar that celebrates Christ's love and compassion for humanity. It falls on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost or 19 days after Pentecost. In 2026 the Feast was on Friday 12th June.
The heart represents Jesus' physical heart and his burning, infinite love, while the crown of thorns and flames symbolize his suffering and sacrifice.
We have a large statue of The Sacred Heart in our Grounds where our Community can pray throughout the year.

Every year we mark the day with a special celebration. This year one of our 6th Form Tutor Groups led our Celebration of the Word.

On 13th & 14th June we marked the Congregations Feast Day as we wished The Community of The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. VBC / E led the service. They shared information about our school logo and the significance of the 2 hearts. Students made a virtual tour of the school as they went around looking for
symbols of the heart. They also asked everyone to take part in a creating a display where every student and staff member was invited to put their thumbprint in red ink to make a large heart which would represent our community, having been made by each person.
