The Holy Father, Pope Leo, asks for our prayers for a specific intention each month. We are all invited to answer the Holy Father's request and to join with many people worldwide in praying for this intention each month. Pope Leo wants our prayers to be transformed into concrete actions.

Pope Leo XIV’s prayer intention for the month of June invites Catholics to pray 'For the Values of Sport ' that all sports may promote peace, fraternity and communion. Pope Francis continued that sport can bring us closer together and that sport can be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that it can promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth.

Pope Leo XIV’s 2026 Monthly Intentions

  • January: For prayer with the Word of God.
  • February: For children with incurable diseases and their families.
  • March: For nations to move toward effective disarmament and peace.
  • April: For priests in crisis, that they receive necessary accompaniment and support.
  • May: For food security, promoting a commitment to avoid wasting food.
  • June: For the values of sports, using it as an instrument of peace and dialogue.
  • July: For respect for human life at all stages.
  • August: For evangelization in cities, discovering creative ways to build community.
  • September: For the care of water and its sustainable management.
  • October: For mental health ministry to help overcome illness-related stigma.
  • November: For single-parent families experiencing the absence of a mother or father.
  • December: For the proper use of wealth, putting it at the service of the common good.
