Short Breaks/Respite

“young people make excellent progress in developing independent living skills. older young people receive considerable staff support and guidance to learn life skills, such as cooking, laundry and budgeting in preparation for their futures. positive advocacy by the school has enabled young people to experience work placement opportunities;these have included chef duties and working in a day nursery. as a result, young people improve their self-esteem and confidence, and gain an increased sense of personal achievement. this increases their opportunities and choices for the next stage of their lives.” – ofsted report september 2017

While young people come to Pield Heath House on a daily or weekly residential basis, we also offer a short break care service, in conjunction with Social Services, to support the families of young people where required.

The 24 hour curriculum helps our young people with social, independence and life skills in particular. Support is highly individualised and our students are actively encouraged to make choices in all aspects of care, support and entertainment which increases their life skills. This has a very positive impact on their families, decreases dependency and makes real the prospect of students becoming more independent in their adult lives.

Please contact us for further information regarding our short breaks/respite service.
