Keeping Children Safe Online
The CEOP (Child Online Exploitation Protection Centre) should be contacted if someone has done something online that has made you or a child or young person you know feel worried or unsafe.
The CEOP website is here. There are a number of useful How To Guides for parents & carers regarding the different technologies available to young people here. These include information about: Whatsapp, ooVoo, Instagram, Kik, YouNow, YouTube and Omegle.
Additional Parent Guides on Snapchat, Cyberbullying, Ask.fm, Mobile Phones and others are available from ConnectSafely here.
A presentation ‘Helping Parents keep their Children Safe Online’ is available to view and download here.
The UK Safer Internet Centre has useful resources around Safer Internet Day including Conversation Starters, a Factsheet and a Presentation that can be viewed and downloaded from their links.
The SWGL (South West Grid for Learning) also has valuable information and guidance for parents and carers here.
