This covers the application of numeracy skills to everyday life. It focuses on the functionality of number, money, managing time and measurement and how awareness of numeracy skills is transferred to everyday life experiences. The following areas are covered as part of the sixth form curriculum:
- Managing Personal Finances including varying sizes of personal budgets, investigating and experiencing the services of financial institutions, personal savings, shopping, paying rent etc.
- Time management, reading and understanding time, appointments etc
- Measurement – knowledge of size in everyday situations e.g. clothing, shoes, weight, work, room design, furniture etc.
