Students at Pield Heath School access the community as part of their learning curriculum. Educational visits are made to a wide variety of places and are usually linked to the relevant project work being undertaken in class.
The local community is used for community facilities such as the library and for shopping and leisure activities. The wider community is used to give older students additional experience and for specialised visits.
Students also take part in a travel skills programme which enables them to practise making accompanied, shadowed and independent bus and rail travel. Our young people work through a step by step programme which is designed to meet their individual needs.
