The National Gallery welcomed some of our KS4 & 5 students on the 2nd November 2016. The students were welcomed by two artists in residence and discovered great works of arts and enjoyed exploring a range of paintings that focused on human figures as well as architecture.
Currently, KS4 & 5 are learning about buildings and architecture, so this trip provided the students chance to come across works of art relevant to their theme.
The students enjoyed constructing different buildings from different types of paper. They took inspiration from a range of artists and the different shapes and patterns they observed in the architecture round them. The gallery was so impressed with the behaviour and creativity that they would like Pield Heath students’ to take part in a number of other workshops in the Spring term.
