New sensory integration equipment in Occupational Therapy

We have recently introduced new sensory integration equipment in our occupational therapy room which is proving very popular with our students and can be used in a variety of different ways.

Some students have previously avoided playgrounds because their balance is poor and they are afraid of falling, the new equipment helps improve their balance and they are gradually given more challenging exercises to build their confidence.

For others the equipment can be specifically set up to help strengthen particular muscles or improve their co ordination.

At the end of a busy day students also enjoy relaxing and unwinding in the hammock.
